Tips for a succesful camp

  1. Bring your registration form with you to the beach as this will greatly expedite your check in process.

  2. Bring sunscreen. Even on cloudy days the sun can burn. The suns rays reflect off the ocean magnifying its intensity. Re-apply every 2-3 hours.

  3. Arrive early. This will help your child transition and settle in to the beach. Getting there early lets them get comfortable with the ocean. Being relaxed will make surfing that much more fun. (Note please do not ask to check in before 12:00 because our volunteers are very busy getting everything ready for the day)

  5. If you have beach chairs bring them and anything else to make your day as comfortable as possible.

  6. Bring a jacket and dry clothes. In the afternoon the beach will usually have an on shore wind that will cool the air temperature by as much as 15 degrees compared with nearby areas. Most of our beaches have showers so bring extra towels. (even though it may feel cool the sun will still burn your skin. See number 2 for further clarification)
